Meet The Rainbow Team
At Rainbow Playgroup we have a high adult to child ratio which ensures children get individual attention when needed. Staff ensure they keep up to date with current guidelines through online courses and weekly staff meetings. All staff hold a Paediatric First Aid qualification. We have staff trained in, and responsible for coordinating Safeguarding, Special Educational Needs & Disability and Behaviour Management.
Catherine Goldsmith
Proprietor & Early Years Lead
I graduated in 1983 with a B.Ed(Hons) Degree in Science & Education from Homerton College, Cambridge. As well as having qualified teacher status I have also completed a Diploma in Early Years.
I started Rainbow Playgroup in 1994. We were then based in the Auction Rooms in South Road (formerly the Oundle Middle School). Rainbow Playgroup moved in 2013 into new purpose built premises on Eastwood Road. It was very exciting to be able to have free flow to an outside play area with paving and a grassed area.
I thoroughly enjoy working with young children as every day is different and they have so many wonderful ideas.
I love spending time with my two daughters and young grandson.
Gemma Aldous

I have a level 3 Cache Diploma in Early Years and am currently studying for a Foundation Degree in Early Years.
I have previously taught ‘signalong sign language’.
I love to read as a hobby.
Cathy Humphris

I graduated in 1988 with a B.Ed (Hons) degree in English & Education from Homerton College, Cambridge. I have been a teacher ever since in the UK in Brighton and Oundle and in international schools in Hungary, Abu Dhabi and Thailand. I have two daughters, Clare and Hannah. I love music and dance and enjoy playing the piano and flute. I also love singing and perform with Oundle Gilbert and Sullivan Players.
Rainbow Playgroup is a very special place to work and I am proud to be part of this amazing team.

I have a very busy home life with three children of my own. We enjoy baking together, going down to the park and having lots of fun. I love listening to music, keeping fit and reading. I have 17 years of previous experience in the police service.

Oundle is my home town and I wouldn’t want to live anywhere else. I have been working at Rainbow Playgroup for 19 years. My career before having my 3 wonderful boys was in Catering where I was a Head Chef at Oundle School. All my boys came to Rainbow Playgroup and loved it.
I love history, reading, animals, nature and Leicester City FC. My favourite things is walking in the countryside with my husband and our two darling greyhounds.
Yasmin Jones

I am a big kid myself so I love playing games, dancing around, singing and especially doing anything arty! I have great fun keeping busy at home with my own son. I enjoy lifting weights and illustrating.
